This knock down rebuild in Kings Beach on the Sunshine Coast was designed as a three-storey residence to capture sweeping views of both the coastline and the Glass House Mountains. Inspired by a Californian contemporary aesthetic, the brief centred around cool concrete tones, light timbers and restrained minimalism — while ensuring the interior remained warm and inviting rather than stark or sterile.

A carefully curated material palette grounded the home, with Sarsen Grey becoming a defining feature throughout. Specified to add depth and cohesion, the tone anchored the contemporary architecture while maintaining softness and warmth across the living spaces.

The Lane was brought on to refine cohesion, enhance warmth and design custom cabinetry, the interior balances architectural clarity with liveability. The result is a layered, modern coastal home that feels expansive yet grounded — a refined interpretation of Californian contemporary design in Kings Beach.
